John Herbert is the second owner of this beautiful Tuxedo Black Camaro and has been the owner since his Junior year in High School. He bought the car in 1979 in Western New York, just east of Buffalo. This 1968 Camaro RS/SS did not begin its’ life as a Big Block 396, nor as a black car. It started out as a Camaro coupe with a straight six, 250ci, painted Grecian Green and had a very plain, vinyl interior. While in college, the first restoration took place with a complete engine rebuild and major body work being performed. The car was painted Forest Green with the skunk stripes. In 2004, he and his wife, T, began a 28 month frame off restoration, completing it in August of 2006. As with any car project, it is never complete and as such the Camaro continues to evolve, with improvements being made each year.
